The Penn State student who fell five stories out of an apartment window at Calder Commons was moved out of the intensive care unit Wednesday, family spokesman Randy Jepson said.
Paige Raque, a 19-year-old Penn State varsity cheerleader, was transferred to rehabilitation Wednesday and can now move all of her limbs, Jepson said. Raque fell 39 feet out of the fifth floor of a Calder Commons window late at night on Oct. 13, sustaining head trauma among other injuries, as previously reported.
Jepson said doctors have seen improvement with Raque, but she still has a long way to go.
“We asked her to move her leg yesterday, and she did,” Jepson said. “The next thing doctors are looking for is for her to get her speech back and for her to swallow so she can get off the feeding tube.”
The State College Police Department said the fall was deemed accidental but is still under investigation, as previously reported.
