Former presidential candidate Rick Perry to visit State College

Former Republican presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry, along with U.S. Senate candidate Tom Smith, will come to State College Saturday.

Deb Flavin, Centre County Republican Committee secretary and executive director, said the two will appear at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Mitt Romney’s State College Victory Center in the Glennland Building, 205 E. Beaver Ave.

In addition to campaigning for Smith, Perry will also thank the area’s volunteers. Volunteers at the State College campaign office have made the most calls and connections with voters of any office in the state for “many, many weeks,” Flavin said.

Flavin said space is limited in the office. Some people who come to see Perry and Smith may be inside, and some may have to remain outside, she said.

The Centre County Republican Committee is not taking reservations for the event, Flavin said.
