Stores run low on supplies

With the onset of Hurricane Sandy, students have begun to flock to grocery stores to get last minute supplies.

At McClanahan’s Downtown Market, 116 S. Allen St., checkout lines extended deep into the aisles.

Jim French, general manager, said that McClanahan’s was running low on bread before more shipments arrived, but was unsure when a shipment would come in. The grocery store is also expected to receive shipments of more water later today and tomorrow, he said.

At CVS Pharmacy, 116 W. College Ave., the store is running low on many essential alternative light sources.

Manager Rick Foster said CVS is low on water, candles, D-batteries, flashlights and, recently, low on food. CVS will not be open if the store loses power, he said.
