Harvard Sailing Team to perform

The YouTube sensation Harvard Sailing Team will be performing on Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. in HUB Alumni Hall, in correspondence with Student Programming Association’s Late Night.

The event is free to students with a valid PSU student photo ID and attendants will be seated on a first come, first serve basis.

Ivy League Sketch Comedy group Harvard Sailing Team gained its success through various comedy videos, most prominently “Boys Will Be Girls,” a video that has over 4,900,000 views on the group’s YouTube channel.

According to SPA’s press release, the group “performs weekly in Manhattan, and has been featured on CBS, VH1’s ‘Best Week Ever,’ College Humor, Funny or Die and ComedyCentral.com.”

Though the group has no affiliation with Harvard or its sailing program, the sketch comedy group made up of four men and five women has had great success over the years.

In 2011, the Harvard Sailing Team was the winner of the New York Nightlife Award for Outstanding Comedy Group and also the winner of the Friar’s Club Comedy Sketch Competition in 2010, where they debuted a short film to a sold-out crowd.

The group has been featured on various shows, short films and commercials, as well as participating in a multitude of comedy festivals.
