A woman was sexually assaulted by a known male near the corner of East College Avenue and South Allen Street on Friday afternoon, the State College Police Department said.
The incident is the eighth sexual assault reported to local police that has occurred in the area since Aug. 27.
The woman involved reported that the incident occurred at about 12:15 p.m. It is unclear where exactly the incident took place.
Police could not say if either party involved was a Penn State student and could not comment further on their identities.
Police could not specify if drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident.
State College Police have fielded 46 reports of sex crimes this year.
