Sandusky asks for return of bail

The $50,000 worth of bail money posted by Jerry Sandusky’s wife after he was arrested was returned to her today as per an order by Senior Judge John Cleland.

Dottie Sandusky posted her husband’s bail on Dec. 8 in order for him return home after being charged with more counts of child sex abuse, as previously reported. Sandusky was eventually convicted in June on 45 counts of sexually abusing boys he met through his charity, The Second Mile.

The courts also released Sandusky’s house from the court, as $200,000 of the value of the Sandusky’s property at 130 Grandview Road was used as collateral, according to court documents.

Joe Amendola, Sandusky’s lead defense attorney, argued that because Jerry Sandusky’s bail was revoked after the end of his criminal trial, Dottie Sandusky is entitled to the money she placed for bail back, according to court documents.
Sandusky is to be sentenced Oct. 9, as previously reported.
