A woman was sexually assaulted at an unknown location in Lock Haven this weekend, the State College Police Department said.
The assault was reported at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said.
Police said it is common for the local police department to be called in to respond to a reported assault when it is reported at a local hospital.
Police could not confirm whether the female was a Penn State student or whether drugs and alcohol were involved.
This is the first sexual assault reported to Mount Nittany Medical Center that occurred in Lock Haven this year.
Since Aug. 27, there have been six sexual assaults reported to local police that occurred in State College.
