Karmin, Mayday Parade and the Maine to perform

Student Programming Association announced two new concerts as part of SPA LateNight in the month of October.

Youtube sensation and singers of the catchy summer hit, “Brokenhearted,” Karmin, will perform at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. In 2011, Karmin hit the web with their cover of Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” which gained over a million views and ignited its career. On their official website, Karmin described its music as “swag-pop”, which is appropriate since Amy Heidemann of the duo is able to spit rhymes like Nicki Minaj. With a loyal following on social media and current popularity on the radio, Karmin’s stop at Penn State should garner a large crowd.

Only a week after Karmin performs, Mayday Parade and The Maine, both popular alternative bands that frequently perform at festivals like Vans Warped Tour, co-headline for a concert at Penn State at 10 p.m on Saturday, Oct. 20, Heather Maggi (senior-film), Entertainment Chair of SPA said.

Both events take place at HUB-Robeson Center’s Alumni Hall and are ticketless and free for students with a valid Penn State photo ID.
