Pink performs on NBC's "Today" show in New York on Sept. 18.

P!NK punches back on the scene

P!nk’s new single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” promises to blow the audience away, and she attempts to do the same with her new album, “The Truth About Love.”

Released Sept. 18, “The Truth About Love” fuses pop, R&B and rock together with some ska and punk influences.

Born Alecia Beth Moore, P!nk has released five studio albums that have explored her trials and tribulations paired with powerful vocals that has inspired listeners. “The Truth About Love” is no different in that aspect.

The album opens with “Are We All We Are,” a loud song with a rousing chorus typical of P!nk’s songs.

“Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” the first single off of the album, is a standout with P!nk as it tells the story of letting go of the people who have held her back, giving the audience an anthem to love.

Another highlight, “Just Give Me a Reason,” a duet with Nate Ruess from the band fun., is a soaring, slightly theatrical ballad that showcases both singers’ strengths.

While the album is filled with faster paced songs that inspire listeners, P!nk’s softer offerings shine.

Similar to “Just Give Me a Reason,” the song “Beam Me Up” showcases P!nk’s raw talent and raw emotion, and may be one of the best songs on the album.

The title track is mediocre compared to other songs on the album, with a vintage sound, but is by no means a filler song.

Another average song “Where Did the Beat Go?” has a typical theme but demonstrates P!nk’s range and power.

The final song on the album “The Great Escape” is a romantic and emotional song that is sure to make some listeners cry. It is a great way to finish “The Truth About Love,” and reminds listeners about what love really is.

The guests featured on the album also amaze, including rapper Eminem on “Here Comes the Weekend” and Lily Rose Cooper, better known as Lily Allen, on the track “True Love.”

P!nk impresses throughout the album, relating to all of her fans and her audience.

With the different styles of music fused in the album, the audience is reminded of P!nk’s growth as both a musician and as a person.

The satisfying album will continue P!nk’s success and leave her listeners wanting more.
