Jerry Sandusky will be sentenced on Oct. 9 for the 45 counts of sexual abuse he was found guilty of according to a court document issued by the Centre County Courthouse.
A hearing will precede the sentencing to determine whether the former assistant football coach is considered a sexually violent predator, according to court documents. The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. in Courtroom 1.
Any written statements or information that may impact the sentencing are required to be submitted by Oct. 5, according to court documents. A sentencing conference will also take place for both the prosecution and defense at 2 p.m. on Oct. 8.
Sandusky, a former Penn State defensive coordinator, was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sex abuse in June. He maintains his innocence through his lawyer, Joe Amendola.
