Do not show up late to Saturday's football game against Navy

While perusing Wikipedia earlier this week, I began reading through the page for our beloved Beaver Stadium.

I glanced over the section titled “Attendance Records” and noticed that there is a top 10 list for highest and lowest attendance on game days since the 2001 expansion.

What struck me as particularly odd was that the lowest four attendance numbers have come in 2011 or 2012.

The Ohio game was the third lowest attendance in the last 11 years at Beaver Stadium.

I’m sure there are plenty of reasons as to why games against teams such as Eastern Michigan and Indiana State top this list of low attendance, but I expected a full house for Ohio after witnessing this community and university rally together as “one team.”

Finally, we have a 3:30 p.m. kickoff this week against the Navy Midshipmen, as well as a 3:30 p.m. kickoff against the Temple Owls the following week.

There should be no excuse to see any empty seats inside Beaver Stadium the next two weekends. This team needs us to be there in full force and we owe them that much after these fine gentlemen who don the blue and white decided to stand by us.

Because of this, we need to continue to keep our pride high.

Let’s continue to show the world that we are indeed “one team” and that “We Are...Penn State.”
