Pretty Lights to perform at Bryce Jordan Center

Listeners certainly “get a good feeling” when listening to the 2006 hit “Finally Moving” from producer and electronic dance music artist Derek Vincent Smith, also known as Pretty Lights.

Now Penn State students can enjoy Colorado native Pretty Lights’ feel good music live Oct. 30 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

In the electronic dance music world, Pretty Lights is a big name. He has played in music festivals, including the recent Electric Zoo in New York with the likes of heavy hitter big names like David Guetta, Diplo and Skrillex, according to the festival’s website.

Pretty Lights is best known for sampling a variety of genres, like hip-hop, jazz and funk while adding glitchy beats. EDM fans will be able to enjoy Smith’s unique style accompanied by his drummer Adam Deitch.

The “Dancing in the Dark” concert will be presented by Live Nation event in association with GLOWFEST.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday Sept. 12 and can be purchased via Livenation.com, Ticketmaster.com, at the BJC box office, or by phone.
