State College Police continue to search for the 21-year-old Penn State student who was reported missing Saturday, according to a release issued by the State College Police Department Wednesday.
Jesse W. McMillen was last seen in at about 4:45 p.m. Monday at exit 124 of Interstate 79 in West Virginia, police said. He was carrying a cardboard sign and a dark colored backpack with numerous pins attached. Police said he has brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.
He was reported missing by his roommate after he did not return from looking for a place to rent in the Bellefonte area late last week, police said.
After further investigation, police found that McMillen stayed at the Red Carpet Inn, located in Ebensburg, from Aug. 16 through Aug. 17. According to the release, he left the motel the morning of the 17th and told the motel clerk he was hitchhiking to visit a friend in Pittsburgh.
While the friend in Pittsburgh has been identified, McMillen has not been seen or heard from, police said.
Police said McMillen is entered in the nationwide computer database as a missing person. Anyone with information on McMillen’s whereabouts is asked to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150.
