Police identify person of interest in connection with thefts

The State College Police Department has identified a person of interest in connection to a series of thefts from vehicles as well as a stolen vehicle, which have all happened in the last week.

The person was found rummaging through on the 500 block of Wilson Alley, police said. While police believe the person has been involved in multiple incidents that have occurred recently, the exact number of incidents is yet to be determined. The person has not been charged yet, police said.

Police also said they believe the person to have been involved in another car theft early Tuesday morning near 255 E. Beaver Ave. The person is to believed to have stolen cigars from the car.

The person is also believed to have been involved in the theft of a white 2009 Honda CRV stolen Saturday from a driveway on Hillcrest Avenue, police said. The person who owned the car said that she may have left the car unlocked and the keys inside the car, according to police.

The incidents are still under investigation, police said.
