Less than one week before jury selection is slated to begin in the Jerry Sandusky trial, a state appeals court denied a final request made by his attorneys today -- electing to keep the trial start date at Tuesday.
The former assistant coach’s defense co-counsel Karl Rominger filed a petition for review and motion for a stay yesterday in the Superior Court, which was denied by Judge James Fitzgerald. However, the motion to seal the application was granted.
No additional information regarding the application for postponement is available on an online docket sheet.
Jury selection is slated to begin Tuesday at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte. Sandusky faces 52 counts related to child sexual abuse.
