Regulations for State Patty's Day won't stop parties

I respect the recent steps taken by Interfraternity Council and Residence Life to curb the excessive drinking and damage on State Patty’s Day weekend, but you can only go so far.

This is a weekend that several thousand students, including myself, look forward to. Just because there will be no parties at fraternity houses, it does not mean we will not be celebrating. This will only lead to more people filling the streets and trashing downtown apartments with parties there.

I am very interested in how Residence Life plans on enforcing the one visitor per room rule for that weekend. Most students have already made plans for more than one friend to come for the weekend, and now you are telling me that they will have to pick one and tell the others they can’t come? Such an enforcement should have been announced long before now.
