If a request by Penn State Abington's faculty members is heeded, no tuition dollars will be used from students at the campus in the legal defense of former Athletic Director Tim Curley and former Vice President for Business and Finance Gary Schultz.
Penn State Abington's Faculty Senate Council sent the request to the Penn State Board of Trustees after a unanimous vote at its Nov. 9 meeting. It demands that no money be utilized for fees of administrators charged with perjury and failure to report child sexual abuse in the case of former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, according to a news release.
The motion arose when the council learned that the university would pay for legal counsel of the administrators.
