Arts July 22, 2010 at 7:26 PM Tweet Bellefonte hosts annual jazz festival By Chris ZookCollegian Columnist With musicians and instruments of all kinds, the Bellefonte Jazz Festival kicks off again. Guest artists include renowned trombone player Wycliff Gordon, pianist Russ Kassoff and drummer Dennis Mackrel, among other performers. This year, the music begins on Friday, July 23 from 2 to 11 p.m. and continues on Saturday, July 24 from 11 a.m. to midnight. Aside from music, the festival also includes a farmer's market and educational activities for children. The festival takes place in the historic district of Bellefonte and is sponsored by several local companies. Though some of the performances are free to watch and hear, there are others that require a cover charge. The Saturday evening guest artist concert requires tickets, which cost $15 and are available at Webster's Bookstore Café, 128 S. Allen St., State College; and Cool Beans, 141 W. High St., Bellefonte.
