Lions' slump continues in loss to Texas State

The Penn State baseball team (4-6) dropped its fifth-straight game Friday when it fell, 20-6, to Texas State (6-5).

The Bobcats had a slim 4-3 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth inning before they jumped on the Nittany Lions' relief pitching for six runs to stretch their advantage to seven runs.

Texas State continued to add to its lead, as it scored 16 runs against the Lions' relievers.

Penn State starter Ryan Ignas went just three innings and allowed four runs on six hits.

First baseman Joey DeBernardis led the Lions with three RBIs on two hits, including a home run. Mario Eramo also added two RBIs for Penn State.

The Lions will attempt to get back on the winning track Saturday when they compete in the second of three games with Texas State.
