The Penn State men's lacrosse team (0-4) lost 11-7 to Villanova (3-1) Tuesday at Jeffrey Field.
The Nittany Lions led 3-1 after the first period but couldn't hold the lead. Villanova outscored the Lions 5-0 in the second period and held the lead for the remainder of the game.
Wildcat attacker Jake Rice and midfielders Mark Scioscia, Mike Brennan and Michael Vigilante each had two goals to lead Villanova's scorers.
Lion attacker Matthew Mackrides led all scorers with three goals, while teammate Billy Gribbin notched two goals.
Penn State goalie Dave Baker played the full 60 minutes for the second straight game and tallied 17 saves to Wildcat Dan Gutierrez's seven.
The Lions will travel to Rutgers for a 1 p.m. showdown Saturday in Piscataway, N.J.
