Police: Student reported assault

A Penn State student reported to police Thursday that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in a parking lot between University Gateway and the Meridian.

The 21-year-old female told the State College Police Department she was assaulted around 2:30 a.m. Thursday in a parking lot on the 600 block of East College Avenue, police said.

Her assailant, described as a man in his early 20s with dirty blonde hair, approached the woman in the parking lot with a group of at least four other men who were intoxicated, police said.

Currently, there is no evidence to suggest either party knew one another and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
