Ryan Ignas pitched seven strong innings to lead the Penn State baseball team (3-1) to a 12-6 win Friday against McNeese State (4-5).
Ignas allowed two earned runs on five hits while striking out six. The win was Ignas' first of the season after a no decision in the Nittany Lions' season-opening win against Cincinnati.
The Lion offense exploded for 19 hits and 12 runs. Ben Heath hit his fourth home run of the season and led the team with four RBI.
Sean Deagan and Jordan Steranka each had three hits and added two RBI apiece.
The Lions have a double-header Saturday when they play Dallas Baptist at noon before taking on Lamar at 3:30 p.m.
