Responses to KissOut letter take point out of context

Regarding the letters published in response to my letter Tuesday, I understand the importance of LGBTA events for members of the Penn State campus who are seeking a group to confide in and relate to, as being gay on a predominantly heterosexual campus is difficult. I understand that this is such an emotional issue and such discussions should be dealt with tactfully. And, I understand that gay rights transcend any political ideal or party.

What I don't understand is how a group that preaches tolerance cannot tolerate the views of others. I stated in my letter that the indiscretion seen in the Feb. 15 article was on the part of the Collegian, not the LGBTA students. In fact, the Collegian covered yet another LGBTA knitting event the next day. To say that our school paper varies the coverage of groups at Penn State is ignorant. A group that includes such a small percentage of the campus population is written about far too often. Call me a judgmental "bigot" all you want, but facts are facts. Don't misconstrue my argument in order to slam me from your own intolerant soapbox.
