Major League Soccer's FC Dallas selected former Penn State forward Jason Yeisley in the third round of the league's SuperDraft.
Yeisley, who graduated this past semester, was the 38th overall pick in Thursday's draft at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Yeisley finished second on Penn State in goals and points during the 2009 season. The Nittany Lion graduate won the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in December and led his team to a Big Ten Championship and a NCAA Tournament appearance.
J.R. Eskilson of Goal.com predicted Yeisley would fall to the Philadelphia Union in the fourth round with the 49th overall pick while Draftsite.com's mock draft didn't include Yeisley.
FC Dallas finished with an 11-13-6 record in the 2009 regular season but failed to make the playoffs. FC Dallas also selected North Carolina's Zach Loyd fifth overall, California's Andrew Wiedeman 21st, and Southern Methodist's Dane Saintus 54th.
