Women's club soccer advances in national tournament

The women's club soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the NIRSA NCCS National Soccer Championships Friday by beating Arizona 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

The team will play Texas State at noon Saturday with hopes of advancing to the championship scheduled for 5 p.m. in Phoenix, Ariz.

The women are looking to improve on semifinals losses in each of the past two seasons. The winner of the Penn State-Texas State game will face the winner of the UC-Santa Barbara-UCLA semifinal.

The men's club soccer team's season is over after a 2-0 loss Friday night to Michigan in the quarterfinals.
