Man knocks down woman, steals wallet
A man knocked a woman to the ground and took her wallet at about 12:18 a.m. Thursday on the 800 block of South Pugh Street, the State College Police Department said.
The man ran from the scene after he took the woman's wallet containing her identification cards and an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
Police: Man assaulted by downtown bar
A man was assaulted by an unknown person near a downtown bar Thursday at about 12:33 a.m., the State College Police Department said.
The man was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center after suffering a laceration to the head from an assault near The Shandygaff Saloon, 212 E. College Ave., police said. The man received staples in his head because of the laceration, police said.
Instructor's jury selection scheduled
The trial for a Penn State instructor who was charged with aggravated assault was continued to the next term of court, and his jury selection is scheduled for next month, defense attorney Brian Manchester said.
Eliot Preschutti, 35, was hired to teach THEA 297D (Comedic Improvisation) this fall. Charged last year with assaulting his former girlfriend, he now also faces charges that he later tried to intimidate her into dropping the case, according to court documents.
Preschutti's jury selection was rescheduled for Dec. 7 and 8, Manchester said.
