Police: Woman stole drugs from hospital

A woman entered Mount Nittany Medical Center and stole several vials of prescription drugs, including valium, from two medical storage chests at about 11 a.m. Oct. 22, the State College Police Department said.

The woman is about 5 feet 4 inches tall, thin, with long straight blond to dirty blond hair, police said.

The woman was seen driving away from the scene in a black or dark blue older model SUV, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to notify the authorities.

Penn State Altoona student dies in crash

A Penn State Altoona student was killed in a car accident that left four others injured at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Penn State Altoona officials said.

Nicole Chauvet, 19, of Canonsburg, was a passenger in the vehicle, which was struck by another car as it attempted to make a left turn, officials said.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident, officials said.

Penn State Altoona was scheduled to hold special walk-in counseling hours Monday night, officials said.

Penn State Altoona officials extended their deepest sympathies and condolences to the Chauvet family and friends.

Police: 17-year-old arrested in theft

One of two 17-year-old boys involved in the theft of $9,500 in laptops, electronics and cash sometime overnight Thursday from Grace Prep School, 3006 Research Drive, was arrested Friday, the Ferguson Township Police Department said.

One of the juveniles is currently being held at the Centre County Juvenile Detention Center, police said. The other has been identified but has not been taken into custody, police said.

Vandalism: An individual reported at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday that an unknown individual spray-painted "Phillies suck" onto a vehicle parked at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, 409 E. Fairmount Ave., the State College Police Department said.
