Edwards out 4-6 weeks

Nittany Lions forward Bill Edwards is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after a partial MCL tear in his right knee.

The freshman suffered the injury Wednesday morning at practice and the diagnosis was announced Thursday via Assistant Director of Communications Brian Siegrist's Twitter account. A release said team doctors expect Edwards to return to the lineup sometime in mid-December.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound forward had been impressing coaches in practice, showing three point range and driving ability and was expected to compete for minutes in the Nittany Lions' front court.

The Lions will open their season November 6th in an exhibition against Slippery Rock at the Bryce Jordan Center.
