Spirits high at Homecoming Pep Rally

Though it was held indoors due to the snowy weather, spirits were high at the 2009 Homecoming Pep Rally and students and alumni packed HUB-Alumni Hall.

Greg Tallman (senior-finance) and Christina "CriCri" Henry were announced at Friday night's pep rally as this year's Homecoming King and Queen and were crowned by Sue Paterno and P.J. Maierhofer.

"It was the most surreal moment. I blanked out," Henry (senior-public relations and international politics) said while holding a bouquet of six red bull cans and flowers.

The Blue Band crammed itself into the front of the hall and played traditional Penn State songs while the cheerleaders, majorettes and Blue Sapphire danced in the background.

Notable alumni, such as grand marshall Valerie Plame Wilson and former Penn State football player Wally Triplett, told attendees what it was like when they were Lions.
