Regarding Julie Wolf's Sept. 14 column "Tragedies a chance to look ahead," I completely agree with all the advice on which Julie gave her insight.
My brother died unexpectedly in a car accident my freshman year on November 27, 2005, at the age of 23, just a little over a year after beating testicular cancer.
While this tragedy drastically changed my life in a negative way and still impacts it today, I try to focus on only the positives that life has to offer.
People dwell too much on the little negatives in their lives without ever fully appreciating the good things we have.
Life is about enjoying the time we have on this earth and celebrating it in our free time.
Hang out with friends, play sports or do whatever you enjoy the most because when you look back on life, the good times are what you will always remember.
I know I can always say my brother definitely loved his life, even through the bad times, and I'm proud I can say that.
Julie, I hope you get better in your own time, because, as they say, time heals everything.
