Sunderland lands high school coaching job

Four months after resigning as Penn State's wrestling coach, Troy Sunderland was named Tuesday as the head wrestling coach at Manheim Central High School, the school district confirmed.

The Manheim Central School Board approved the hire of Sunderland Tuesday night at a board meeting.

Sunderland finished his Nittany Lion coaching tenure with a 115-90-2 record and led Penn State to a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Championships last season. Sunderland's resignation became official April 4 after a week of speculation that he could be stepping down.

Cael Sanderson left Iowa State to take over the Penn State job two weeks later.
