The Penn State football team is ranked No. 8 in the preseason USA Today Coaches' poll released Friday.
The Nittany Lions finished last season in the exact same spot.
Three Big Ten teams are ranked in the poll, with Ohio State coming in at No. 6 and Iowa at No. 21. Six other Big Ten squads received votes.
Florida, the defending BCS champion, was ranked No. 1, while Texas, Oklahoma, Southern California and Alabama rounded out the top five.
