Students on campus tested for swine flu

Three more students living off campus have been infected with swine flu, and three students who are living in residence halls are awaiting test results, said Penn State spokesman Geoff Rushton.

One of the three tested students living in the residence halls confirmed that her case tested positive for the H1N1 virus, commonly called swine flu.

The infected students on campus were asked to leave the campus for seven days or be switched into a single-occupancy dorm room, Rushton said.

Rushton said the university remains in contact with the families of the parties involved and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

"It's not a situation for panic," he said.

Earlier this summer, Penn State released a statement announcing that two students living off campus were recovering from the illness.
