Baseball splits with Michigan

The Penn State baseball team split two games against Michigan on the road Saturday, winning 6-4 and losing 9-5.

The Nittany Lions (16-12, 2-3 Big Ten) won the first game after falling behind 3-0.

Penn State starting pitcher T.J. Macy struggled, surrendering four earned runs in five and two third innings.

The Lions would tie the game twice before scoring two in the top of the 10th inning on back-to-back singles by Michael Glantz and Rick Marlin.

In the day's second game, Penn State took a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning thanks to errors by the Wolverines. But Michigan rallied with two home runs and a single to take the lead for good.

Penn State closes out its series against Michigan with a 10:30 a.m. game Sunday.
