Penn State defensive line coach Larry Johnson will remain at Penn State, the coach confirmed Thursday night in a telephone interview.
When asked if he had decided to stay or take a job at Illinois, Johnson told The Daily Collegian he will continue to coach at Penn State.
"That is correct," Johnson said. "Yes."
Johnson, who has coached at Penn State since 1996, said there wasn't much that affected his decision.
"No serious influence," Johnson said. "Just my great love for our players and this Penn State family."
