LOS ANGELES -- A foot injury won't keep Jordan Norwood off the field for his final game as a Nittany Lion.
The senior Penn State wideout told reporters Monday he feels "90 percent ready" for Penn State's Rose Bowl Game against USC, despite missing significant practice time in past weeks.
"While we were at home I didn't practice at all," Norwood said. "But since we've been down here I've been working myself in. I'll be ready."
Norwood was vague on the specifics of the injury, but said his left foot was "rolled up on" during Penn State's regular season finale against Michigan State. At Penn State's practice Monday, Norwood wore a light blue jersey with his number on it instead of a medical cross usually reserved for injured players.
Fellow senior wideout Deon Butler said Norwood's absence from the first-team offense hasn't altered the Lions' attack plan for USC's defense. The Penn State coaching staff replaced Norwood with junior receiver Graham Zug when Norwood wasn't able to practice.
Butler hinted that Zug could see additional playing time in Thursday's Rose Bowl.
"We've inserted him to where Jordan would have been," Butler said of Zug. "Obviously he doesn't make all of the plays Jordan's made, but he's kind of like a carbon-copy type of playmaker. He's a guy that goes over the middle, very sure-handed. He's a guy that catches a lot of underneath routes."
Norwood was slowed earlier this season with a hamstring injury. The pulled muscle kept him from playing in Penn State's first two conference games against Illinois and Purdue.
Despite missing time, Norwood has been a reliable target for quarterback Daryll Clark. Norwood is third on the team with 38 catches and second on the team in receiving yards (605) and touchdowns (5).
Zug has played in every game this season for the Lions. The Manheim, Pa. native has 11 catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
