Police: Man hit in head with baseball
A 19-year-old male student was taken to the hospital for a head injury Wednesday after being hit by a baseball, Penn State Police said.
The student was standing under the batting tunnel in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at about 4:15 p.m. when a baseball went through a batting net and struck his head, police said.
He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Police: Man exposes himself to woman
A man exposed himself to a woman Wednesday on West Beaver Avenue, the State College Police Department said.
The man was described as a 6-foot, 200-pound man in his early 20s with crew cut dark hair, police said. The report was filed at about 8:10 p.m. Lt. Chris Fishel said he did not know if this incident was connected to a Nov. 29 report of a man exposing himself near Pattee Library.
Police: Menorah knocked over again
A menorah outside of Beta Sigma Beta fraternity, 255 E. Fairmount Ave., was knocked over late Wednesday evening, the State College Police Department said.
This was the fourth time in the last six days the menorah has been knocked down, police said.
However, the incidents are not believed to be an act of hate toward the fraternity, Lt. Chris Fishel said.
The State Theatre to screen British film
Happy-Go-Lucky, a British film about a cheerful schoolteacher, will begin its procession of screenings at 7 and 9:30 tomorrow night at The State Theatre. This vivacious, R-rated comedy was written and directed by Mike Leigh. The general ticket price is $8 and $6 for students and seniors.
Sally Hawkins stars as an optimistic schoolteacher, Poppy. According to imdb.com, Hawkins won two awards for her performance in Happy-Go-Lucky. In the film, Poppy is overwhelmed with life's recent challenges to her unyieldingly positive state of mind. The film explores and tests how long Poppy's indefinite happiness will endure such trying times.
