Individuals have the ability to wear whatever they want

In response to "Coaches should set limits on what their players wear" (Dec. 2) by Jody Whipple, I would like to ask exactly how this team's attire "undermined" your well being. Did their attire affect you in a physical manner? Did it bring you to tears? I'm guessing that you are indeed an "older" citizen who is not in touch with today's fashion trends. This could mean that your style might happen to insult or offend some of today's younger generation. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't see any Penn State students writing in, ranting about how the "older" citizens of this state need to become more fashion sensible.

Students have the respect and courtesy to understand that today's style is individual. Unless this athlete's outfit displayed vulgar language or highly explicit images, I don't see how you think you have the right to write in to our newspaper and insult one of our athlete's style choices. Remind me why you're suggesting our coaches turn into dictators? Last time I checked, I was positive that this is a free country and one can wear what they wish.
