I'm not saying that on an 8 a.m. morning walk to the Forum that I am the most conscientious walker, but almost being run over like road kill is not part of my morning agenda. Sometimes I feel like it's the Daytona 500 around here: Stop at no one's mercy! Where I am from, when people are crossing through a crosswalk, you know, the painted white lines, people slow down and give the pedestrian the right of way. I know this is a society of instant gratification, but people speeding up when they see a student trying to make it across the road need to stop.
My recommendation is to be enforce speed limits and improve parking. On my walk from the Forum, there was no speed limit sign in sight. As freshmen, I am trying to make it through my first year without being killed by oncoming traffic. With improved parking, people will not be rushing to find a spot at last second and will slow down.
