Brewery to host final punk-rock show

The Brewery, 233 E. Beaver Ave., will host the final punk rock-themed show of the semester at 9 tonight, featuring local unsigned talents The Whatleys and The Pugilist.

The show, promoted by Cherry Darling Productions, is 21 and over. There is a $3 cover charge.

Boys of Lough to perform at theater

The State Theatre will host Boys of the Lough, the first full-time professional Celtic band. Its holiday performance, "A Celtic Christmas," is at 8 tonight. The show is a celebration of music and song of Celtic tradition from the Atlantic lands. According to the State Theatre's Web site, Boys of the Lough have been on more than 60 tours of the United States, bringing traditional Irish and Scottish music to a large audience since 1967.

The show is for anyone 14-and-over. Tickets are $27 for the general public and $22 for students and seniors.

Music showcase applications due

Students have less than a week to submit new original music to the 13th Annual Millennium Music Conference & Showcase.

Independent solo artists or groups that are selected could perform at a four-night showcase in Camp Hill, Pa., in February, which is attended by more than 100 music industry professionals.

Showcase applications are available online at on www.sonicbids.com and are due by Dec. 8. The application fee is $20.
