State Theatre to show horror drama

Frozen River, directed by Courtney Hunt, premieres at 7 tonight at the State Theatre, 130 W. College Ave. The R-rated horror drama film is $8 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. Another show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

Frozen River is set near a Mohawk reservation in New York state. The film is about a woman who was left by her husband and later encounters a Mohawk woman who earns money smuggling illegal immigrants into the United States. Although they are an unlikely pair, the jilted wife, who is struggling financially, tags along for the unlawful endeavors.
