Simple Assault: A college-aged man was punched several times in the face by an unknown man at 1:12 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Hiester St., the State College Police Department said. The victim was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of a cut on the cheek, police said. The assailant is described as being college-aged, having a buzz cut and wearing a blue shirt with white stripes, police said. Witnesses said the man continued to punch the victim after he was on the ground unmoving, police said.

Arson/Criminal Mischief: An item in the Kunkle Lounge was found smoldering at 12:44 a.m. Friday, Penn State Police said. Police would not say what the item was. The item and part of the surrounding carpet were damaged, police said. There is no damage estimate available at this time, police said.

Theft: A trash receptacle was stolen from Burrowes Road sometime between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Penn State Police said. The value of the 3-foot by 2-foot receptacle is estimated at $1,000, police said.

Burglary/Criminal Trespass/Theft: An unknown person entered a residence hall room on the fifth floor of Packer Hall and removed alcohol from the refrigerator without permission at 9:42 p.m. Saturday, Penn State Police said. The person has been identified and will be interviewed at a later date, police said.

Motor Vehicle Theft: A 2000 gold Chrysler Concord was stolen from 817 Whitehall Road at about 2:10 a.m. Sunday, the State College Police Department said. The car has since been recovered, police said. The theft is still under investigation, police said.

Disorderly Conduct: Four male Penn State students will be cited after pushing and shoving one another in Lulu's Nightspot, 129 S. Pugh St., at about 11:39 p.m. Saturday, the State College Police Department said. There were no injuries, police said.

Theft: An unknown man stole a water pipe valued at $375 from Grasshopper Gifts, 322 E. College Ave., at about 7:42 p.m. Saturday, the State College Police Department said.
