I was told by a friend to visit the Collegian Web site after a conservophobic student had written a hate-filled letter that was an injustice to the liberty-loving Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chapter at PSU. When I saw Mr. Maney's letter, "Speaker's claims enforced hateful, malicious thinking" (Oct. 27), I nearly spilled coffee on my computer, for the hateful, ignorant drivel was so very intense.
Maney asserts that YAF spews "anti-gay, anti-Semitism, anti-feminism and anti-Islamic propaganda," but he is only partially correct. YAF hates all things that are antithetical to Western civilization, freedom and tradition. Maney shows his dislike for our heritage, our culture and normalcy by defending sexual deviancy, non-Christian faiths, feminism (i.e., Lesbianism, abortion "rights," etc.), and Islam -- a wicked, vicious faith whose adherents would stone liberals like Maney if they ever took control of Western countries.
We should not condemn Maney for his ignorance of these matters of grave importance, for he is a nutritional science major and more than likely has not studied these issues beyond watching Jon Stewart on Comedy Central. Mr. Maney, please do not insult the intelligence of the PSU community by sending asinine letters to the campus paper.
