The Penn State football team passed its first true road test with a 48-7 win at Wisconsin Saturday night.
The Nittany Lion defense held Wisconsin to 148 yards on the ground, 63 yards below its season average. The Badger defense, however, was able to contain Penn State's offense for most of the game's first 20 minutes, but an Evan Royster touchdown run and Derrick Williams 63-yard punt return for touchdown, both within a 35-second span, put the Lions up 17-0 before the Badgers scored.
Penn State came out passing in the second half, and Daryll Clark led the Lions on a pair of touchdown drives in their opening two drives. Clark finished the day with 244 yards passing (194 in the second half) and a score, to go along with two touchdowns on the ground.
Lion coach Joe Paterno coached his second straight game from the pressbox and was walking with a cane.
