Former Nittany Lion cornerback Willie Harriott was charged with driving with a suspended license Friday, police said, making it the third legal issue Harriott has faced during his Penn State career with a prior DUI charge and an underage drinking citation.
Harriot, 21, is also facing one count registration and certification of title required, according to Penn State Police.
The charges come after police pulled Harriott over Thursday at 2:28 a.m., police said.
Joe Paterno announced Harriott's dismissal from the team Thursday during his weekly radio show.
"Willie got himself into a jam the other night and won't be with the team," Paterno said.
Harriott was charged with DUI last November and is currently enrolled in the accelerated rehabilitative disposition (ARD) program.
On Aug. 17 of last year, Harriott and sophomore tight end Andrew Quarless were stopped by Penn State Police and given underage drinking citations.
