Alumni have the right to keep season tickets

As a recent graduate of Penn State, I know the heartache the lottery system for football tickets can cause. I was one of the unlucky during my stay at Penn State. That is exactly why I do not believe that we, as alums, should have to give up our tickets or otherwise have our privileges cut for the students.

I do agree with Fran Bradley's point in her letter, "Alumni should help revise football ticket procedure" (Sept. 1), about giving tickets to students at branch campuses, but I have earned my right to attend the football games if I so choose.

Not only did I graduate, but my family pays a small fortune for our tickets way up in the north end zone. If people choose to give up their seats for the students, that is their choice and one that is certainly commendable. But to impose a lottery system for alums would be insulting.
