Though Obama has style, his words may mean little

I cannot agree with Mr. Cleland's letter, "Obama promotes changes as Kennedy era once did" (Aug. 28) more. Barack Obama, much like John F. Kennedy, campaigns with style and arrogance, and zero substance. Kennedy talked a lot of changes coming off the leadership of Dwight Eisenhower, and took the most prosperous presidential era of century into one of the darkest eras in the country's history. Obama is indeed on a short list of politicians that can compare with Kennedy in eloquence, and he is also one of few that can compare to his emptiness of words. "Yes we can" has become almost as well known as "Ask not what your country can do for you." I certainly hope that if Obama is indeed elected president, he doesn't lead us into such disasters as The Bay of Pigs invasion and The Vietnam War, and that Sen. Biden is not as inept a leader as then Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson proved to be.
