Students should take time to learn fight song lyrics

The first home football game is just around the corner, and there is one thing that is deeply bothering me: Students singing the wrong lyrics to the Penn State fight songs. Scores of undergraduates were mistakenly taught at Football Eves and other pep rallies over the past few years to add "fight on for" in front of "Penn State forever" when singing "The Nittany Lion." Those extra lyrics are wrong and frankly, it's an insult to the alumni who learned to sing the song correctly. I don't care if the cheerleaders were the ones who taught you to add "fight on for," it's still wrong. Do the alumni and the football team a favor and learn the right lyrics.
