Police investigating possible Pollock Hall assault

At 2:38 a.m. Thursday, a student reported to Penn State Police that an unknown male attempted to assault her while in a Pollock Halls dorm, police said.

On the daily police report, the incident was listed as a false imprisonment/unlawful restraint/harassment/stalking/drug law violation. Police said this title means all of these crimes may have played a part in the incident, but details were not publicly available because the investigation is ongoing.

Penn State spokeswoman Lisa Powers said both the alleged victim and the male were living in Mifflin Hall at the time of the incident, but the male was asked to vacate after marijuana was found in his dorm room.

The male is still a student and can take classes unless Judicial Affairs decides to expel him, Powers said.

Powers also said there have been discrepancies between the stories of the alleged attack as told by the male, the alleged victim and witnesses.
