Pringle accepted into ARD program

Penn State basketball player Stanley Pringle was accepted into an accelerated rehabilitative disposition program Thursday morning, marking the end of the open lewdness case against him, Centre County District Attorney Michael Madeira said.

Pringle, a guard, was charged April 2 with open lewdness and disorderly conduct in connection with an alleged public masturbation incident in Pattee Library, according to court documents. Pringle was never suspended from the basketball team.

Madeira said Pringle will receive one year of probation as part of the accelerated rehabilitative disposition (ARD), which he said is a typical resolution to a case involving third-degree misdemeanors such as Pringle's.

If Pringle completes the first-time-offenders' program, he can request his criminal record be expunged, Madeira said.
